Sidewalk switch overs and preparations for September

By the time you read this, you may have already seen the base for the new Dundas Place streetscape starting to come to life. At the end of last week, crews were starting to pour concrete by Ridout. By the end of this week, the north half of Dundas between Ridout and Talbot was fully concrete covered! As a result, crews have shifted the walkway from the south side of Dundas, in front of Budweiser Gardens, over to the north side, in front of Court House/Bell Building.

Despite the rainy and wet week, crews were able to make a lot of progress on the concrete and complete the majority of the underground duct work between Talbot and Market Lane.

As the surface work begins to ramp up, so will the disruption of walkways throughout the site. Remember to keep an eye out for the pedestrian navigation signs as you enter Dundas Place. These signs are continuously revised by the crew to help you get around.

Welcome to the Dundas Place community, Fanshawe students!

In preparation for September, the City worked with Fanshawe College to give Market Lane a make-over with some new signage. We can't wait to welcome more than 2000 students to our downtown this fall!

More information about what to expect in September on York, Talbot and Dundas can be found online at london.ca/coreconstruction.
