Cramming for exams and concrete work

In the words of Dundas Place Manager, Savanah Sewell, it's been a great week on Dundas Place. Watch the video below to find out more.

As part of the Exam Cram Walking Tour, Fanshawe students visited a few of the cool places along Dundas Place including stops at Cameli's, Heroes Comics, Filthy Rebena Vintage, Grooves Records, Attic Books, Rebel Remedy and their final destination: the central library.

Back to Construction...

Because of the cold temperatures we had this week, the crew installed portable heaters (shown below), which have become an essential part for the concrete hardening process. From far away, they almost look like small train engines!

While we won't be planting any new trees this year, the crew has been out placing topsoil and finishing the irrigation work at the planters near Bud Gardens, to help the existing trees stay healthy. I am also happy to announce that the contractor poured the last stretch of concrete within the roadway. We'll still be out working on the sidewalk areas and little sections here and there, but the bulk of concrete work is complete!

Below is a summary of Dundas Place construction for the week of November 19 and next steps for the week ahead.

Work Completed:

  • Finished filling planters with top soil

  • Installed garbage bins and bike racks

  • Concrete work up to Richmond

  • Brick work at roadway from Talbot to Richmond

  • Hydro and utility work at Richmond and east of Richmond

Work Anticipated Next Week:

  • Traffic light installation at Richmond intersection

  • Road gravel grading at Richmond intersection

  • Complete remainder of concrete work up to and at the Richmond intersection

  • Brick work up to Richmond
