After finishing electrical preparation work under the sidewalk, removing tree planters and old street light fixtures, the crew has cleaned up and left for JUNO Week. Friday was spent tidying up the construction pylons, plywood and restoring gravel surfaces with concrete. We may be back to clean up and make sure everything looks good if the snow melts over the weekend, but it will be minimal work.Full construction will not resume until March 18, 2019.

There is still some construction fencing up in spots where tree planters were removed, between Wellington and Richmond. The fencing has been covered with Dundas Place branding to help raise awareness about our transformation as we welcome JUNO Week visitors to our downtown community.

Bike Parking

The removal of bike parking is required in front of the library for construction this year. You will see this bike parking removed some time next week. If you or any of your customers, neighbours or guests tend to bike downtown, consider the following alternative bike parking locations:

  • in front of the reading garden on Dundas (shown below)

  • outside of Citi Plaza at King and Wellington

  • in Citi Plaza underground parking garage (north side of the mall)

Neighbourhood pre-construction meeting

It is incredibly important to stay connected during construction. A big thank you to our hosts at TAP and everyone who attended the pre-construction meeting on Tuesday. It was a pleasure meeting all of the Dundas Place neighbours. I hope my team and I were able to answer your questions and/or connect you with the right people.

As part of this meeting, the project team released some brand new Phase 1 construction footage. We encourage you to watch and share the video on social media - it's a great way to highlight the progress we've made with the rest of our community!

Upcoming road closures

Heads up! On Monday, March 11 as early as 7 a.m., Dundas Street, from Ridout Street to Talbot Street, will be closed to accommodate a large tent setup for JUNO Week. Pedestrian access will be maintained through the area at all times.

The street will remain closed until Wednesday, March 20 as late as 5 p.m., once JUNO Week elements have been cleared out.
