This week, the crew was busy rebuilding Bell (communications) infrastructure. To do this, they have to carefully remove all of the concrete surrounding the existing pipes and thread in new pipes. Once this is all set, they enclose the duct work with fresh concrete to protect it.
While the work above is ongoing, the crew is also actively installing new hydro duct work. This process is similar to the Bell work, but instead of refurbishing the wires, the hydro lines will be brand new.
Changes at the Clarence Intersection
As mentioned last week, the crew began watermain work at the intersection of Clarence & Dundas. Because of this, the crosswalk at the intersection has been detoured farther away from its original location. While downtown, remember to give yourself an extra minute to get around this intersection. Changes like this can seem like a hassle but they're needed to help keep everyone safe.
