Canada Day countdown and unloading, the neighbourly way

More trees! That's the biggest news I have to share with you this week. The crew has been busy planting more trees and shrubs on the first two blocks of Dundas Place. This new greenery adds a splash of colour to the cool, grey tones on Dundas Place just in time for Canada Day festivities!

In the portion of Dundas Place that's under construction, the crew continued working on hydro and Bell infrastructure installations. These take time due to the amount of other overlapping underground pipes that get in the way. We remain on schedule and will continue chipping away at this next week.

New this week, the crew has started installing silva cells (the black grid-like boxes shown below) needed for the trees near Richmond. These boxes allow pockets of topsoil to extended underneath the sidewalk to help new trees grow and stay healthy

Over at the Clarence intersection, crews continued with watermain work. We were able to make some good progress on Tuesday night, near Richmond.

Unloading, the neighbourly way

Sometimes, it takes teamwork. Earlier this week, Rebel Remedy had a large delivery coming in and we know that, without the option to unload curbside due to construction, it can be tough to accommodate large or unique orders. Luckily, they were able to recruit a little extra help from their neighbours at RBC Place London and Attic Books to unload their delivery quickly and efficiently.

If you’re a local business who needs some extra assistance loading / unloading in a unique situation, consider contacting a neighbour for help or reach out to Downtown Jim to discuss your needs.
