Since Monday was a holiday, and in order to maintain our construction schedule, the crew will be working on Saturday, July 6. The majority of the work will be at the Clarence intersection so please keep an eye for the pedestrian navigation signs as you make your way through.
You've Got to Love Watermain Work
This week, the crew continued installing more watermain pipes at the Clarence intersection. This is a "slow and steady" process since there are quite a few existing utilities underground at the intersection. The crew has to take care and caution to properly expose the existing pipes before they can thread in the new watermain.
While we are making headway with the Bell and Hydro work, the also crew installed new LED lights at the tree grates over on the nearly-finished portion of the flex street. These will create another source of light at night and make our trees stand out at all times!
York & Richmond Intersection Now Closed
On Tuesday, crews closed the intersection of York and Richmond Street as part of this year's York Street construction project. Access to VIA Rail will be maintained from the east on Wellington Street and from the north from Clarence Street via King Street.
We know closures like this can be hard to get used to so we partnered with our friends at Downtown London and Classic Rock 98.1 to hand out Downtown Dollars to some of the people impacted by this disruption.
Contest in the Core
Visit downtown businesses this summer and earn a chance to win 1000 Downtown Dollars (equivalent to $1000 CAD)! Our friends at Heroes Comics are on board! Have you signed up yet?
