Market Lane will reopen on Monday, September 9 at 7 a.m., bringing back pedestrian access between Dundas Place and the Covent Garden Market. Construction will continue in Market Lane, but orange fences will be rearranged to create a safe pathway. After this, crews will be focused on getting bricks laid on Dundas, east of Richmond Street, and adding streetscape elements in Market Lane.
New this week, the crew began sidewalk removals, starting at Richmond Street, in preparation for concrete in the sidewalk area. If your walking or wheeling around Dundas Place, this will have an impact for your daily commute. Please keep an eye out for advance warning signage and give yourself extra time to get where you're going.
The Concrete Keeps Coming
The crew continued concrete work down the roadway with the goal of getting up to Clarence Street by the weekend. Like the intersection of Dundas & Richmond, the intersection of Dundas & Clarence will have regular asphalt, not bricks, to make it easier and more functional to get access to utilities as needed in the future.
Work at Wellington Street
We'll be starting utility and concrete work at Dundas & Wellington beginning Monday, September 9 which means that we'll be down to one southbound vehicle lane in that area. Pedestrian access will be maintained while we do this work!
Back To School Party
Councillor Arielle Kayabaga and TAP Centre for Creativity will be hosting the first-ever "Back to School Party" on Dundas Place on Saturday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your friends, your kids, the whole family and connect with the community and our business community.
Movie Night in the Street
On Saturday, September 7, we’ll be shutting down Dundas Place, between Talbot Street and Richmond Street to bring you Aladdin (2019). The movie starts at 8 p.m. and, as always, bring a lawn chair and be sure to arrive early for food and fun!
