Concrete placement continues in the 2019 Dundas Place construction zone, proceeding generally eastward from Richmond Street to Wellington Street. The paving work includes removals of the former sidewalks, laying the new concrete base, and then finishing with brick placement.
Crews are doing their best to maintain a construction zone that's accessible, but pedestrian routes will continue to change as work progresses in front of each property. Please remember to look at the pedestrian maps and posted sidewalk signs to guide you. Pretty soon we'll have some extra-wide pedestrian walkways for everyone to enjoy, with lots of room for people to enjoy patios and park their bikes!
Those living in the area should be aware that, weather permitting, crews will be returning to Dundas Place (Phase 1) between Ridout and Richmond to touch up line paint on Sunday night. A Police Officer will be onsite to help direct traffic through the area. Motorists and Cyclists can also expect Richmond Street to be down to one northbound lane from Sept 23-27 to accommodate sidewalk improvements.
York & Talbot Streets
Construction fencing is always moving around to allow different types of construction activity to occur. To help people navigate through the ongoing changes, the City of London created and installed some new pedestrian navigation signage in the York & Talbot Street construction zones (shown below). We are always looking for opportunities to improve to improve our core construction zones to help make your experience more user-friendly. As always, if you have any suggestions you think might help, please feel free to send them our way.
