Smoothing out mid-block crossings and some advice from your neighbours

This week, the crew finalized the layout of the temporary watermain. Over the last few days, they've been testing the pipes to make sure they work and deliver water suitable for drinking. The temporary watermain testing procedure is just as important as the permanent testing procedure because both will generate water to all of the businesses and residents along Dundas. Hydro is another key underground element being replaced as part of the Dundas Place reconstruction project. Because of this, the crew has been rolling out the temporary hydro lines to ensure everyone maintains access to power during construction. Mid-Block Crossings On Friday, crews poured concrete pavement for both mid-block

Fence up, phones down

With winter behind us, we are officially moving into construction season. From now until fall 2019, Dundas Street, between Richmond and Wellington, will be closed to all vehicle traffic. This also includes the closure of the intersection of Clarence & Dundas for the whole duration of the project. Remember, access to the parking lots on Clarence Street will be maintained, just please keep an eye out for moving equipment! On Monday, construction fencing went back up, which means we all have to be a little more careful when walking down any one of these blocks. Remember to keep your head up - don't be a distracted walker. Try your best to avoid texting on your phone while walking and take in yo

The JUNOS are here!

It's been a huge week for the City, preparing for the JUNOS, cleaning up, hosting live performances and transforming seven blocks in London’s downtown to support a combination of free community programming and JUNO activities. Clearing out for JUNO Week

After finishing electrical preparation work under the sidewalk, removing tree planters and old street light fixtures, the crew has cleaned up and left for JUNO Week. Friday was spent tidying up the construction pylons, plywood and restoring gravel surfaces with concrete. We may be back to clean up and make sure everything looks good if the snow melts over the weekend, but it will be minimal work.Full construction will not resume until March 18, 2019. There is still some construction fencing up in spots where tree planters were removed, between Wellington and Richmond. The fencing has been covered with Dundas Place branding to help raise awareness about our transformation as we welcome JUNO W

Progress, pylons and Phase 2 planning

Despite all of the slush and snow, we got to spend Friday working in the sun. You may have observed crews out working on sidewalks and removing bus shelters at various locations throughout the week, marked off by pylons or small sections of construction fencing. Neighbourhood Pre-Construction Meeting On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, the project team and I will be hosting a Phase 2 Pre-Construction Meeting at Tap Centre for Creativity located at 203 Dundas. We'll be sharing what we learned in 2018, what to expect in 2019 and be available to answer your questions about construction. Dundas Place residents, business owners and interested neighbours are all invited to get information about: 2019 const
